Terms of Service

The rules for using Caption Studio, in plain words.

1. What the service is

Caption Studio makes captions for short videos. You upload a video; it is transcribed on our own server, and you edit the captions, their look and the cut in your browser, then export a video or a subtitle file.

2. Your account

You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for what happens under it. One account is for one person; do not share it.

3. Plans and limits

Every account has a plan. A plan gives a number of minutes of video a month and a longest single video. Minutes are counted once, when a video is first transcribed, by the video's length. Editing and re-transcribing the same video do not count again. The allowance starts again on the first day of each calendar month; unused minutes do not carry over.

Exports your browser makes itself are unlimited. When your browser cannot make one, our server does, up to the number above for each video.

We may change plans and their limits. A change never takes away minutes you have already been given for the current month.

4. Your videos are yours

You keep every right in what you upload and in the captions and videos you make. You give us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your files for a short time, transcribe them, and produce the exports you ask for. We do not use your videos to train models, and we do not show them to anyone else.

You must have the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload anything unlawful, anything that infringes someone else's rights, or anything sexual involving a minor. We may remove such content and close the account that uploaded it.

5. Files are temporary

Uploaded videos, their transcripts, your edits and your exports are deleted automatically 24 hours after they were last changed. Download what you want to keep. See the Privacy Policy.

6. Captions are machine-made

Transcription and the optional AI-written post copy are produced automatically and can be wrong — especially names, numbers and mixed Hindi and English. Check them before you publish.

7. Availability

Caption Studio is a young service and can be interrupted, slowed by a queue, or changed. We do our best to keep it running and to keep your work, but we do not promise it will always be available.

8. Ending

You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk. How payments are handled when a plan ends is in Refunds & Cancellation.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided as it is, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the three months before it arose. Nothing here limits a right you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date at the top says when. If a change matters, we will say so in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction.
